After the news has been released with regards to permanent hair dyes and hair straighteners posing a risk for breast cancer, Alexandra Grant expressed her sentiments on the matter.
“Wow. Today’s news…” Grant’s caption on her Instagram post said. “The numbers are staggering, especially for womxn of color.”
“I went gray prematurely in my early 20’s… and dyed my hair every color along the way until I couldn’t tolerate the toxicity of the dyes any more,” Grant went on to explain. “In my 30’s I let my hair turn ‘blonde,'” Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend continued.
The artist concluded her caption: “I love and support that every womxn can choose how she wants to look at every age. But/and, if womxn are perishing from beauty standards… then let’s talk about those beauty standards. Love to all womxn!”
According to People, ‘womxn’ is ‘an intersectional term that is meant to be more inclusive of transgender women, non-binary individuals and women of color.’
Reportedly, Alexandra Grant’s lovely silver mane has become internet famous, since it is rare to see women go out in public who don’t bother coloring their grey hairs.
Alexandra Grant, 46 and Keanu Reeves, 55, were first romantically linked after holding hands at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in early November. However, the two have been friends for years and have even published two books together.
