A church in Mexico has a giant statue of baby Jesus that looks exactly like Phil Collins.
The 22 foot tall baby Jesus statue weighs 2000 pounds and was created by sculptor Roman Salvador.
Reportedly, the said statue travelled approximately 12 hours from the city of Chimalhuacan to the La Epifania del Señor church in the central Mexican state of Zacatecas.
As per New York Post, the baby Jesus statue is made from fiberglass, resin, automotive paste and automotive paint and was commissioned by Father Humberto Rodriguez.
Accordingly, Rodriguez states that he only meant to commission a statue that would “fit the church” and not in his intentions to have a Phil Collins lookalike.
“There is a space of between 26 feet between the ceiling and the floor and I ordered a statue measuring 21 feet, but I never intended to make it the biggest baby Jesus statue in the world,” Rodriguez stated.
Nowadays, the 68 year old “Another Day in Paradise” singer does not really resemble the Mexican baby Jesus since he doesn’t have the tuft of hair he used to have.
The baby Jesus statue is also reported to be a contender for the Guinness World Records’ “largest baby Jesus statue.”
To date, the Guinness record holder for the tallest Jesus Christ statue is “Christ the King” which measures 120 feet tall and is found at Swiebodzin, Poland.
