Adidas will release two wireless headphones tomorrow, September 25. Reportedly, the new releases from the sportswear giant will make working out and running more enjoyable.
The devices were produced by Adidas in collaboration with Zound Industries, a Stockholm based brand that designs, develops and market headphones and speakers. Zound is also known to have developed Marshall headphones and Urbanears.
According to Inside Hook, the headphones were designed to give emphasis on sound, usability, fit and durability. A spokesperson from the company also stated that the soon to be released headphones are “tools that empowers through music, not just tech products.”
The new range will be comprised of wireless over ear headphones and wireless earbuds. The range is Bluetooth enabled and was designed for athletes mainly, with emphasis on “movement and durability,” accordingly.
Reportedly, the sound and design of the new headphones are for athletes “every step of the way from warm-up, to workout, right through recovery,” as per Adidas.
The over ear model is called the RPT-01 and has an IPX4 rating. Also, it has washable and removable knitted inner headband and ear cushions. Tech Radar reports that the over ear model is lightweight and comes with a 40 hour battery life. Price for the RPT-01 is at $170.
On the other hand, the in-ear model is called the FWD-01 and is configured up to 16 ways so you are sure to find a fit that is for your ear.
Accordingly, the FWD-01 are also lightweight and does not extend to much further in the ear for health reasons. The cord is reported to be tangle free since it is flat and is coated with sweat-proof fabric. Battery life is up to 16 hours and is priced at $150.
