19 year old Aniah Blanchard has been missing since October and on Monday, human remains found in Macon County, Alabama had put the search on halt.
The Alabam Department of Forensic Sciences have confirmed that the remains found in the Shorter community off County Road 2 indeed belongs to UFC fighter Walt Harris’ step daughter.
Reportedly, 3 personalities have already been arrested since Blanchard’s disappearance. She was last seen alive on October 23 at a petrol station in Auburn Alabama, as per Sky News.
Accordingly, Blanchard’s black Honda CRV was found without her several days after, more than 50 miles away at a block of flats in Montgomery.
Police have reported that Aniah Blanchard’s blood was found inside her car.
On Wednesday, the Auburn Police Department have announced the news with regards to the human remains that was found to be Blanchard’s.
Police have set the case as a homicide and have filed new charges in the investigation.
“I am heartbroken for the family of Aniah Blanchard,” Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said.
“During this holiday season, it is easy to get distracted in the hustle and bustle, but I urge us all to remember those that are hurting,” the governor continued.
“I appreciate the diligence of the Auburn Police Division, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the many volunteers who were searching for Aniah. She is indeed loved and will be remembered by us all.”
29 year old Ibraheem Yazeed has been detained due to kidnapping charges connected to Blanchards disappearance.
Two men have also been detained on suspicion of hindering the investigation and helping dispose evidence.
