Christian rapper TobyMac’s son, Truett Foster McKeehan passed away Wednesday at their home in Tenessee, he was 21 years old.
Truett was the eldest son of TobyMac and was also known by the pseudonyms truDog, TRU and Shiloh.
A rep of TobyMac’s has informed USA Today regarding Truett’s death.
“Cause of death has not been determined. Toby was traveling back from Canada and did not get home to be with his family until after midnight last night so there is no statement,” the rep said.
“We just ask that everyone please be respectful of their privacy during this time and allow them to grieve their loss.”
TobyMac was reported to leave the middle of his seven day tour in Canada to be able to be with his wife and other children.
“Last night it all kinda came together… thank you to everyone who has supported me through the thick and thin,” the post said.
Truett was believed to have left home and his father TobyMac, wrote a song called “Scars” last year that is allegedly about how his relationship with Truett started to change since the latter left home.
“Now you won’t take my phone calls, you won’t text me back at all, I just wanna see you, I can’t stand to see you gone,” TobyMac’s lyrics said.
TobyMacs upcoming shows set for Thursday and Friday in Edmonton and Calgary respectively, were postponed
