Toni Braxton Performs at AMA’s for the First Time in 25 Years

Toni Braxton stole the hearts of the audience last Sunday during the American Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The singer sang her hit song ‘Un-break My Heart’ which is a classic hit from the 90’s.

Reportedly, Braxton’s appearance on the awards night is the 25th anniversary of her very first AMA and win, following an almost two decade absence from the AMA’s stage.

Toni Braxton was introduced by Paula Abdul who tagged the former as “a living legend and my friend.”

The 52 year old songstress sang on top of an elevated platform wearing an ethereal flowy white dress. Braxton was surrounded by violinists, cellists and several other string players who helped add more color to the melancholic tune of ‘Un-break My Heart.’

A fan took to Twitter to express her sentiments with regards to Braxton’s performance.

“I’m speechless rn omg our beautiful queen living legend @tonibraxton omg this performance had me literally crying and the orchestra she had playing behind her chills omg this one performance is something I will never forget can’t stop crying #AMAs #ToniBraxton”

Lizzo also made her AMA debut and showed her feisty and unique persona in her performance.

“My passion has always been to show beauty in all its uniqueness,” Tyra Banks said when she introduced Lizzo.

“Beauty is not one-dimensional.”

Aside from Toni Braxton and Lizzo, the AMA’s had a throng of empowering female performances courtesy of Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Kesha.
